Terms

Terms of sale

This is a working draft written for the Phase 0 launch. It has not been reviewed by a solicitor. It must be before seats go on sale.

Who we are

ExpertLinc sells a seat at a live online session. We are based in the United Kingdom and these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

You must be 18 or over

ExpertLinc is for adults only. You must be 18 or over to book a seat, and you confirm this at checkout. We have no safeguarding policy in place for under-18s, so we do not sell to them.

If we find that a booking was made by someone under 18, we will cancel it and refund it in full.

What you are buying

One seat at one live session, for one person, at the date and time shown on the listing. The price shown on the listing is the price you pay. There is no membership, no subscription and no automatic renewal.

A seat buys you the hour and the recording of it. It is not an introduction, a referral, or an offer of work. The listing states plainly what is not included, and that list is part of these terms.

The session itself

The running order published on the listing is a plan, not a script. The balance of the hour follows the questions asked on the night. Hosts speak for themselves and not for their employers.

Nothing said in a session is financial, legal or regulated careers advice, and nothing said in a session is a guarantee of any outcome.

Payment

Payment is taken by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. The price for the current session is £25 per seat, in pounds sterling.

Refunds and cancellation

Full refund if you ask more than 48 hours before the start time, or if we cancel or reschedule for any reason.

If two payments for the last seat arrive at the same moment, only one of them can have the seat. If yours is the one that misses out, we refund you in full automatically and email you to say so. You do not have to ask.

If we cancel or move a session for any reason, you get a full refund, or a seat at the new date if you would rather have that.

Your right to change your mind

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase made online. Because a session is a live event on a set date, that right does not apply once the session has taken place. Our own refund policy above is more generous than the minimum, and it is the one we will apply.

Recording

We record every session and send the recording to everyone who bought a seat, usually the day after. It is part of what a seat buys.

The recording is yours to keep. There is no expiry and no account to log into.

It is for your own use. You may not republish it, sell it, or pass it on. That restriction is what protects the host, who agreed to speak to the people in the room and not to the internet.

Do not make your own recording of a session. We record and distribute it, attendees do not.

Your camera and microphone are off when you join. If you choose to turn either on and speak, you will be in the recording that goes to everyone who bought a seat. If you would rather not be, keep them off and ask your question in writing.

Questions submitted when you book are read out without your name. The recording contains the question, not who asked it.

Behaviour in a session

Sessions are small enough that everyone can speak. We will remove anyone who harasses a host or another attendee, and we will not refund a seat removed for that reason.

If something goes wrong

Email us. We would rather fix it than argue about it. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
